How the Lead Billing System Works

Understand how you receive leads, submit quotes, and only pay when customers accept your quotes

Overview

Our platform connects you with customers looking for iguana removal services. You only pay when a customer accepts your quote through the platform. There are no upfront costs for leads, no monthly fees for quote submission, and no charges for quotes that aren't accepted.

💡 Key Principle: You only pay for successful leads!

Step-by-Step Process

1

Receive Lead Notification

When a customer submits a request for iguana removal services, you'll receive:

  • Email notification with lead details
  • SMS notification (if enabled)
  • Lead appears in your provider dashboard
2

Submit Your Quote

Review the lead details and submit a quote including:

  • Quote amount (your service price for the customer)
  • Detailed description of work to be performed
  • Estimated duration
  • Warranty information (optional)
  • Additional notes (optional)

Note: The quote amount is what you'll charge the customer for the service. The lead fee (separate from your quote) is what you pay the platform when your quote is accepted.

3

Customer Reviews Quote

The customer receives a unique link to view your quote. They can see:

  • Your business name and rating
  • Quote amount and service description
  • Warranty and additional details
  • Expiration date (quotes expire after a set period)

Important: Your contact information (phone, email) is hidden until the customer accepts your quote.

4

Quote Acceptance & Billing

If the customer accepts your quote:

  • Customer verifies their identity with a one-time code (email or SMS)
  • Quote is marked as "Accepted" in the system
  • You are automatically charged the lead fee using the multiplier system (property type, job type, service, iguana activity, ZIP income, and waterfront status)
  • Your contact information is revealed to the customer
  • Both you and the customer receive confirmation emails
5

Contact Customer & Complete Service

After acceptance:

  • Contact the customer within 24 hours
  • Schedule the service at a mutually convenient time
  • Complete the work as quoted
  • Collect payment directly from the customer
  • Ask for a review on the platform (helps build your reputation and attract more customers)

Lead Fee Pricing

Lead fees now use the multiplier-based system from the live billing engine. Every lead starts with a $35 base price and is adjusted by property, job type, service, iguana activity, ZIP income, and waterfront status. Prices are capped between $25 and $225 to keep fees fair.

Formula

Lead Fee = $35 × PropertyMultiplier × JobTypeMultiplier × ServiceMultiplier × ActivityMultiplier × ZipIncomeMultiplier × (Waterfront? 1.05 : 1)

Capped to $25 minimum and $225 maximum.

Property type

Larger or more complex properties carry higher lead value.

  • Residential: 1.0x
  • Commercial: 1.3x
  • HOA / POA / Condo / Multi-Unit: 1.4x
  • Golf Course: 1.5x

Job type

Recurring contracts are worth 2x one-time work.

  • Standard one-time: 1.0x
  • Recurring maintenance: 2.0x

Service type

Weighted by effort and equipment required.

  • Removal: 1.0x
  • Trapping: 1.1x
  • Exclusion: 1.2x
  • Prevention: 1.15x
  • Inspection: 0.9x

Iguana activity

More iguanas = higher-value lead.

  • 1-2 iguanas: 1.0x
  • 3-5 iguanas: 1.08x
  • 6-10 iguanas: 1.15x
  • 10-20 iguanas: 1.2x
  • 20+ iguanas: 1.27x
  • Unknown count: 1.05x

ZIP income + waterfront

Fairness controls keep prices between 0.85x and 1.4x based on median income. Waterfront adds a 1.05x boost.

  • Income multiplier formula: (ZIP median / $59k) × 0.3 + 0.7 (capped 0.85x-1.4x)
  • Waterfront properties: +5% (1.05x)

Reminder: Lead fees apply only when a customer accepts your quote. Your service price to the customer remains separate and is paid directly to you.

Types of Leads

Direct Leads

Customer clicked "Request Quote" on your specific provider profile. These leads typically have higher conversion rates since the customer has already chosen you.

Pooled Leads

Customer submitted a general request without selecting a specific provider. Multiple providers may receive these leads and submit quotes. The customer chooses which quote to accept.

Both lead types follow the same billing model: you only pay when your quote is accepted.

Advanced Lead Generation Features

Beyond standard quote requests, we offer additional features to help you capture more leads and grow your business faster:

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I submit a quote but the customer doesn't accept it?

You are not charged anything. You only pay when a customer accepts your quote.

How is the lead fee different from the quote amount?

The quote amount is what you charge the customer for your iguana removal service (e.g., $200 for a standard removal). The lead fee is what you pay the platform for connecting you with that customer (e.g., $30 for a residential standard job). The customer pays you the quote amount, and you pay the platform the lead fee.

When am I charged the lead fee?

You are charged automatically when the customer accepts your quote. The charge is processed through your saved payment method on file with Stripe.

Can I submit multiple quotes for the same lead?

No, you can only have one active quote per lead. If you need to revise your quote, you'll need to withdraw the existing one first.

What if a customer accepts my quote by mistake?

Customers must verify their identity with a one-time code before acceptance, reducing the chance of accidental acceptance. If a genuine mistake occurs, contact our support team for assistance.

Can I see the customer's contact info before they accept?

No. Customer contact information is masked until they accept your quote. This ensures all communication and transactions happen through the platform, protecting both parties.

How do I ensure I get paid by the customer for the service?

Payment for the actual service (your quote amount) is handled directly between you and the customer. We recommend discussing payment terms when you contact the customer and collecting payment upon service completion. Consider accepting multiple payment methods for customer convenience.

What happens if I can't complete the service after accepting a lead?

You are still responsible for the lead fee, as the connection was made. However, if there are extenuating circumstances, contact support to discuss your situation.

Best Practices for Success

  • Respond quickly: Submit quotes within a few hours of receiving a lead. Faster responses increase acceptance rates.
  • Be detailed: Provide comprehensive descriptions of the work you'll perform. Customers appreciate transparency.
  • Offer warranties: Including a service guarantee builds customer confidence.
  • Contact customers promptly: Reach out within 24 hours of quote acceptance to schedule service.
  • Maintain your profile: Keep your business information, photos, and reviews up-to-date. A professional profile wins more quotes.
  • Ask for reviews: After completing excellent service, encourage customers to leave reviews. Positive reviews lead to more leads and higher acceptance rates.
